I am a Graphic Designer trained through NAIT, MacEwan University, DMIT (Digital Marketing Institute) & YouTube.
I had been thinking of a career change for awhile, working as a Legal Assistant/Executive Assistant hadn’t ever made me completely happy. Organization, computer savy, communication, reliability and being a hardworker, were all skills I had perfected in my career but I was still missing something, my artistic side. When the pandemic hit and shut anything public down and made all the education classes online, I thought it is now or never. I quickly signed up for many online graphic design classes and achieved my Digital Marketing Professional Certification, Visual Design Certificate, Web Design Certificate and Digital Publishing Certificate. I started posting some of my school projects on my personal Facebook page and people started asking me if I could make them a picture and that is how my business started. A business name needed to be decided on and I couldn’t decide on any so I took a break and went outside to pick apples off of my apple tree and the idea of an apple falling (Isaac Newton theory of gravity by an apple falling and hitting his head) gave me the idea for a name. That is how Falling Apple Design came to be!
My obsession is with Typography, and the ways I can use it in graphic design, digitally and print design. Whether it is producing a report, custom typography art or designing a website, I enjoy trying new designs and will continue to work on ways to incorporate typography into every design.
I enjoy meeting and working with people, organizations and small business’s to make their vision a realty. I am also up for trying new things and hope that I can be a part of your story for your next project!
